Out of School Youth
The purpose of this program is to address a need for a special alternative educational program apart from the existing adult education program. The program targets out of school "at risk" youth, ages 18-21. The goal of the program is for students without a diploma to earn a GED and to develop a career plan.
Individuals can earn up to $500 in the WIA program. A student will earn $50 as an attendance bonus for 90% attendance time during a month for up to 4 months ($200 maximum benefit); $150 for passing the GED test; $75 for employment bonus for 60 calendar days; and $75 employment bonus for 90 calendar days. Sounds too good to be true? It can happen for you! For further information contact Liz Dinwiddie or Brad Rich at (731) 364-5481.
